Traditional Fenugreek | Aromatic Seeds for Indian Cooking
Our Fenugreek Seeds, also known as Methi Seeds, are carefully selected from farming sources in India. The seeds are cleaned, sorted and packed as whole seeds for convenient use in traditional cooking, spice blends and pickling.
Fenugreek seeds have a distinctive aromatic, slightly bitter and earthy flavour and are used in many regional Indian recipes.
From Farm to Kitchen
Fenugreek is sourced from different farming families depending on crop availability and sourcing.
The seeds are:
- Carefully selected
- Cleaned and sorted
- Naturally dried/handled
- Packed as whole seeds
- Stored using natural storage practices
The actual farmer/source may vary by batch depending on crop availability and sourcing.
Our Farming Approach
Our spices come through a network of farming families who follow traditional and natural farming practices passed down through generations.
We focus on knowing:
- Who grows the crop
- Where it is cultivated
- How it is grown
- How it is handled after harvest
We do not carry an organic certification. Our approach is based on our direct relationship with farming families and our understanding of their traditional cultivation practices.
We do not intentionally adulterate our products.
Everyday Uses of Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds are commonly used in:
- Pickles
- Sambar and rasam
- Dal preparations
- Vegetable curries
- Spice blends
- Curry powders
- Chutneys
- Traditional masalas
- Tempering
- Sprouted seed preparations
- Regional Indian recipes
They can be used whole, lightly roasted or ground depending on the recipe.
Roasting Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds are often lightly roasted before grinding or adding to spice blends. Care should be taken not to over-roast them, as their natural bitterness can become stronger.
Storage & Natural Variation
Whole spices are agricultural products and can naturally vary in seed size, colour, aroma and appearance between batches.
For best storage:
- Store in a clean, dry, airtight container.
- Keep in a cool and dry place.
- Protect from moisture and humidity.
- Use a clean, dry spoon.
- Keep the container tightly closed after use.
Replacement Policy
Natural variation in seed size, colour or aroma does not by itself qualify for replacement.
