Curry Leaves
Also Known As: Curry Leaf, Kadi Patta, Karivepaku, Karuveppilai
Curry Leaves are a traditional aromatic herb widely used in Indian cooking. They are valued for their distinctive fragrance and flavour and are commonly added to tempering, curries, chutneys, rice dishes and many traditional preparations.
Our Curry Leaves are sourced from various farming families in and around Bengaluru, Karnataka, following traditional and indigenous farming practices. The actual farmer, growing area, variety and harvest characteristics may vary depending on the season and availability.
As a fresh leafy herb, Curry Leaves are delicate and naturally lose freshness after harvesting.

Natural Freshness & Shelf Life
Fresh Curry Leaves are delicate and naturally lose moisture after harvesting.
Over time, they may:
- Become less firm
- Wilt
- Develop yellowing
- Become dry or brittle
- Lose some of their fresh green appearance
- Lose some aroma if stored for a long period
The shelf life depends on harvesting condition, temperature, humidity and handling.
Why Curry Leaves May Spoil Faster
Fresh Curry Leaves are sensitive to both moisture and heat.
They may deteriorate faster when:
- Stored while excessively wet
- Kept at room temperature for an extended period
- Packed tightly with trapped moisture
- Exposed to heat
- Crushed or damaged during handling
- Stored for too long after harvesting
We rely on careful harvesting, handling and natural storage practices, rather than chemical preservatives to artificially extend the shelf life of fresh leafy produce.
Storage
For better freshness:
- Refrigerate Curry Leaves soon after delivery.
- Remove yellowing or damaged leaves.
- Avoid washing the entire bunch before storage.
- If the leaves are wet, gently remove excess moisture before refrigeration.
- Wrap loosely in a clean, breathable material or suitable vegetable bag.
- Avoid tightly sealing wet leaves because trapped moisture can encourage deterioration.
- Wash only the quantity required just before use.
- Use promptly for the best aroma and flavour.
For longer storage, Curry Leaves can also be separated from the stems, dried thoroughly and stored appropriately, or frozen in suitable portions.
Natural Variation
Naturally grown Curry Leaves may vary in:
- Leaf size
- Leaf shape
- Green colour intensity
- Stem length
- Leaf tenderness
- Aroma
- Flavour intensity
- Bunch size
- Natural moisture content
The strength of the characteristic curry leaf aroma can naturally vary according to variety, maturity, season, soil and growing conditions.
Replacement Policy
Generally, fresh leafy vegetables and herbs are not eligible for replacement because of normal natural variation or ordinary spoilage after delivery.
Differences in leaf size, colour, tenderness, aroma, stem length and bunch size are considered normal characteristics of fresh Curry Leaves.
If there is a genuine quality issue that was already present at the time of delivery, please provide clear photographs and the relevant order details. The matter can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
