About Green Chilli

Green Chilli is a popular fresh vegetable and spice ingredient used to add natural heat, aroma and flavour to everyday Indian cooking.

Our Green Chillies are sourced through relationships with various farming families in and around Bengaluru, Karnataka, using traditional natural farming and indigenous agricultural practices. The actual farmer and source may vary from batch to batch depending on seasonal availability.

We use natural handling and preservation methods rather than relying on chemical preservatives to artificially extend the shelf life of fresh vegetables.

Benefits of Using

Green Chilli has useful nutritional characteristics:

  • Provides vitamin C.
  • Contains vitamin A and vitamin K.
  • Provides small amounts of minerals such as potassium.
  • Contains naturally occurring plant compounds, including capsaicin, which contributes to its characteristic pungency.
  • Adds strong flavour and heat without requiring large quantities.
  • Can be used fresh, cooked, chopped, sliced or ground.

These are general nutritional characteristics and are not medical claims.

Common Uses

Green Chilli can be used for:

  • Sambar
  • Rasam
  • Curries
  • Dal
  • Chutneys
  • Pickles
  • Coconut chutney
  • Green chilli chutney
  • Upma and poha
  • Fried chilli preparations
  • Pakora and bajji

  • Everyday Indian cooking

Natural Freshness & Shelf Life

Green Chilli is a fresh and perishable vegetable. After harvesting, it naturally loses moisture and firmness.

You may notice:

  • Gradual softening
  • Wrinkling of the skin
  • Colour changes from bright green towards yellowish or reddish shades
  • Moisture loss
  • Minor surface marks
  • Drying of the stem

The chilli’s heat level can also naturally vary between individual chillies and batches.

Why Green Chilli May Spoil Faster

Fresh Green Chillies naturally deteriorate with time, particularly in warm and humid conditions. We do not rely on chemical preservatives to artificially extend the shelf life of fresh vegetables.

Therefore, chillies may sometimes soften, wrinkle or deteriorate sooner than commercially treated or differently handled produce. This is a natural characteristic of fresh produce and does not automatically indicate poor quality.

Storage

For better freshness:

  • Refrigerate Green Chillies after receiving them.
  • Keep them dry and avoid excess moisture.
  • Do not wash until you are ready to use them.
  • Store in a clean, dry vegetable bag or suitable container.
  • Remove damaged or spoiled chillies promptly.
  • Keep the stems attached where possible until use.
  • Use the softer or more mature chillies first.

Natural Variation

Green Chillies may naturally vary in:

  • Length
  • Thickness
  • Shape
  • Green colour intensity
  • Firmness
  • Pungency/heat level
  • Skin texture
  • Seed development
  • Stem freshness

These differences can occur naturally due to variety, season, weather, soil conditions and harvesting stage.

Replacement Policy

Generally, fresh vegetables are not eligible for replacement because of normal natural variation or ordinary spoilage after delivery.

Differences in size, shape, colour, heat level, minor surface marks, natural softening or moisture loss during storage are considered normal characteristics of fresh produce.

If there is a genuine quality issue that was already present at the time of delivery, please contact us with clear photographs and your order details. Each case will be reviewed individually.

Our Commitment
