Black Chia Seeds are small seeds that can be easily included in everyday meals. At Sampoorna Swadesi, we source our grains, pulses and seeds through our network of farming families in India.
Different crops require different soil, climate and growing conditions, so we work with different farmers and locations depending on the crop.
Know Your Farmers
Our grains, pulses and seeds are sourced from different farming families, including:
- Rajesh – Macherla, Andhra Pradesh
- Siva Reddy – Rayachoti, Andhra Pradesh
- Jagadeesh Rao – Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh
- Ashok Reddy – Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh
- Yedukondalu – Piduguralla, Andhra Pradesh
The actual farmer/source may vary by batch depending on crop availability and sourcing.
How Our Black Chia Seeds Are Cultivated
Our Black Chia Seeds are cultivated using natural farming methods and traditional/indigenous seeds.
We follow natural preservation and storage methods to help maintain the shelf life of the product instead of relying on chemical preservatives.
Because the product is naturally cultivated and handled, you may notice natural variations between batches in:
- Seed colour
- Seed size
- Appearance
- Aroma
- Texture
- Moisture
These variations can naturally occur from one batch to another.
We do not call our products “organic” because we do not have organic certification. Our focus is on knowing the farmers, the source and the farming practices.
Why You May Occasionally See Black Storage Pests
Customers may occasionally notice small black storage insects/pests in chia seeds and other stored grains or seeds.
We want our customers to understand that the occasional presence of a storage insect does not automatically mean the product has been adulterated.
Stored grains and seeds can naturally attract insects, particularly under warm and humid storage conditions. They may become visible only after some time.
Because we follow natural preservation practices rather than depending on chemical pest-control treatments, occasional storage insects can occur.
Proper Storage
After opening:
- Store Chia Seeds in a clean, dry, airtight container.
- Keep them in a cool, dry place.
- Protect them from moisture.
- Check the seeds before use.
How to Use Black Chia Seeds
Black Chia Seeds can be easily included in everyday food preparations.
They can be:
- Added to smoothies
- Mixed into yoghurt or curd
- Added to porridge
- Sprinkled over breakfast bowls
- Added to salads
- Mixed into homemade drinks
- Used in baking and other recipes
Chia seeds are commonly soaked before consumption. Follow your preferred recipe or preparation method.
Our Preservation Approach
We prefer natural preservation and storage practices instead of relying on chemical preservatives.
As a result, customers may notice natural differences between batches in seed colour, size, appearance, aroma, texture and moisture.
Such natural variation does not necessarily indicate a quality problem.
Replacement Policy
We generally do not replace Black Chia Seeds for normal natural variation or occasional storage insects.
However, if you notice a genuine quality problem such as:
- Visible fungus or mould
- White worms/larvae
- Significant deterioration of the product
please contact us with clear photographs and your order details. The issue will be reviewed and replacement will be considered where appropriate.
The Sampoorna Swadesi Approach
Different grains, pulses and seeds need different soil, climate and growing conditions. That is why we source different products through farming families from different locations.
Our focus is on maintaining a direct connection with farmers, understanding the source and bringing traditionally cultivated food to our customers.
We may not have organic certification, but we want you to know who grows your food, where it comes from and how it is cultivated.
Know your farmer. Know your food.
