Wheat Maida is a finely milled wheat flour commonly used in Indian cooking and baking. Our maida is made from wheat sourced through farming families in India and processed into a fine flour for traditional and everyday preparations.

At Sampoorna Swadesi, our focus is on knowing the source of the grain and maintaining relationships with farming families.

From Wheat Grain to Maida

Our wheat is sourced from various farming families because different wheat varieties and crops require different soil and climatic conditions.

We use traditional wheat grains and mill them into a fine flour suitable for a variety of preparations.

The actual farmer and source may vary by batch depending on crop availability and sourcing.

Our Flour Approach

  • Sourced through farming families in India
  • Traditional/indigenous wheat
  • No intentional adulteration
  • Naturally handled and stored
  • Traditionally processed and milled
  • Focus on traceability and knowing the source

We do not claim organic certification. Our focus is on knowing the farmer, knowing the land and knowing where our food comes from.

 What is Wheat Maida?

Wheat Maida is a finely milled wheat flour commonly used for making soft doughs, breads, snacks and many traditional Indian preparations.

Common Uses

Wheat Maida can be used for:

  • Naan
  • Kulcha
  • Bhatura
  • Poori
  • Paratha
  • Samosa
  • Kachori
  • Biscuits
  • Cakes
  • Cookies
  • Bread and bakery preparations
  • Pastries
  • Other traditional snacks

Why Can Black Storage Pests Appear?

We want our customers to understand that naturally handled grain products can occasionally develop storage insects.

Small black storage pests may appear in wheat flour, particularly under warm and humid conditions.

Their presence does not automatically indicate adulteration.

Because we focus on natural handling and storage practices rather than relying on chemical pest-control treatments, occasional storage pests can occur.

Tiny insect eggs or larvae may already be present in stored grains and may not be visible during milling. Under favourable conditions, they can develop later.

How to Store Wheat Maida

For better storage:

  • Keep the flour in a clean, completely dry airtight container.
  • Store in a cool and dry place.
  • Protect it from moisture and humidity.
  • Always use a clean, dry spoon.
  • Do not mix newly purchased flour with older flour.
  • Check the flour before use.
  • Refrigeration can help maintain freshness and reduce storage pest activity.

Our Replacement Policy

As our flours are traditionally handled products, normal variation in colour, texture or occasional storage insects does not automatically qualify for replacement.

However, if you notice a genuine quality issue such as:

  • Visible fungus or mould
  • White worms or larvae
  • Significant deterioration
  • Strong abnormal odour
  • Other serious quality concerns

please contact us with clear photographs and your order details so that we can review the issue.

Our Approach

We believe food should have a known source.

Know the Farmer → Know the Land → Know the Farming → Know Your Food

We work with farming families and traditional agricultural practices, with an emphasis on understanding where our grains come from.

Our products are not presented as certified organic. Instead, we openly share our sourcing and handling approach.
